How to Play Color Code Breaker

The goal

A secret code is a row of pegs, usually 4 pegs chosen from 6 colors. Each color also carries its own symbol (square, diamond, hexagon, triangle and more), so pegs are easy to tell apart. You win when you place every color in its exact position before you run out of attempts.

Making a guess

1. Tap colors to fill the empty slots of your guess row.
2. Tap Submit. Your guess is locked in and appears on the board.
3. Feedback pins appear next to the row. Use them to plan your next guess.
4. Repeat until you crack the code or run out of attempts.

What the black and white pins mean

When the code or your guess contains a repeated color, each peg in the code can be matched only once. Exact matches (black) are counted first; white pins are then counted from the pegs that are left over.

Worked example

The secret code is Red, Blue, Green, Yellow. You guess Red, Green, Orange, Blue.

• Red is in the code and in the right place: 1 black pin.
• Green and Blue are in the code but in the wrong places: 2 white pins.
• Orange is not in the code: no pin.

Result: 1 black, 2 white. You now know three of your four colors are in the code, one of them is already placed correctly, and Orange can be ruled out completely.

Rules for each game mode

Single Player

The classic game: the app picks a secret code and you solve it. Your score is saved to your stats and, when you are signed in, synced to your profile.

Practice

No attempt limit and no score. Hints can reveal one color in the code. Practice is designed for learning how to read the feedback pins without pressure.

Daily Challenge

Every day there is one puzzle, and every player gets the same code. You have 8 attempts and one try per day. Your result counts toward the leaderboard and your daily streak.

Duels

In every duel, both players set a secret code for the other. The player who cracks the opponent's code in fewer attempts wins. Equal attempts is a draw.

• Vs Computer: choose Easy (random guesses), Medium (uses feedback, makes occasional mistakes) or Hard (logical elimination, rarely misses).
• Vs Player, one device: pass-and-play. Each player sets a code while the other looks away, then you take turns guessing.
• Vs Player online: the creator chooses the rules and a secret code and shares a 6-character invite code. The opponent joins with the code, sets their own secret, and turns are played asynchronously, so you do not both need to be online at the same moment.

Scoring

Points depend on how many attempts you had left and how difficult the settings were:

A lost game scores 0. Winning a duel adds a 25% bonus.

Example in Single Player (12 attempts, Standard): solving on your 1st guess scores 210 points, on your 6th guess 160 points, and on your 12th guess 100 points. Your total points determine your player level.

Stats and leaderboards

The app tracks games played, wins, win rate, best score, average attempts, current and best streaks, daily streaks, duel wins and wins against the Hard AI. With the Genius Pass you can compare results on global, regional and group leaderboards.

Fair play and community rules

To keep rankings and duels fair for everyone, you agree not to:

• cheat, exploit bugs, automate gameplay or manipulate rankings;
• attack or overload our servers or interfere with other players;
• use a display name, avatar, region or group code that is abusive, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, impersonates someone, is misleading or illegal, or contains private information such as an email, phone number or address.

We may rename, hide, reset or remove scores, restrict features, or suspend accounts that break these rules. You can report inappropriate names or suspicious activity in the app or by email at hello@integraldot.com.
